Santa

Yet another layout for today! I'm really on a roll here and obviously loving my December kit from The Scraproom! This is my 3rd layout using goodies from my December kit!

So obviously Joe and I are in the photo with Gracie. I must say that we have never had to do that before with the other 3! She did okay being by Santa, as long as Joe was holding her and she had a white-knuckle hold onto Joe. But as soon as he tried to give her to Santa, she wouldn't have anything to do with him. So Joe and I decided that we'd just take our picture with Santa, too! I hate to admit it, but it was kind of fun! lol I haven't had my picture taken with Santa since I was very little. Kind of felt like a little kid again.....oh, the magic of Christmas!

trimming the tree

I've been on a roll....here's another layout that I just finished! This one was inspired by one of the January 2007 Pagemaps. I love using sketches! The metal embellishment is actually the lid off of the icing from a package of Pillsbury cinnamon rolls. Silly, I know, but I couldn't throw them away because I knew I could use them for something. Talk about recycling! I added a circle of patterned paper in the center and loops of ribbon all around the back and topped it off with a chip board accent. Most of the things from this layout were from one of my December kits from The Scraproom.

Give Thanks

Here's a super, simple one that I did with one of my November kits from The Scraproom. These photos are from Thanksgiving dinner this year.

bonjour!

Here's a layout that I was did yesterday. I really like how this one turned out! It is the first time I have made the stacked, circle flower. I've seen them here and there on layouts but was really inspired to try making one after seeing some of the amazing layouts at this blog. I think it adds just the perfect amount of flair for this page. Most of the items used for this layout are from on of my December 08 kits from The Scraproom. I'm hoping to get some more scrapping done this evening.....it's been awhile and I miss it!

help!

I am truly addicted to scrapbooking paper. I knew I was, but I just didn't really realize how badly until these past couple of days. Way back in October I saw some Christmas paper that totally caught my eye and I just never could forget about. Did I buy it then? No. Stupid, stupid mistake. So, every since Christmas has been close and now passed all I can think about is that darn paper and the totally cute layouts that I could make with it and my Christmas photos (which I already have printed out and waiting!). I have been to 3 different scrapbooking stores in town searching for that paper. Is there any left? Well, I found 2 pieces at one store and 1 piece at another and the die-cut sheet at another. There are 9 different sheets of patterned paper and one die-cut sheet. It is sickening to see how much I will go through to find something I'm stuck on. All of that driving around for PAPER! Poor Joe has gone with me to each store too, in search of this silly paper and he has been such a good sport. I'm sure that he's just sitting back and shaking his head at me and my obsession. So after todays trip without any luck, I spent the evening looking on-line for my dream paper. Everyone else must like it too because a lot of places are sold out! Well, I can sleep well tonight because I ordered it and hopefully it will arrive on my doorstep soon. See. I'm sick. Truly addicted. But now very happy because I finally got that silly paper! What does it look like, you're wondering???? Here's the link.....it's by my new favorite line of papers: My Minds Eye.

Merry Christmas!!!!

Wishing everyone a very blessed Christmas! We had a great morning opening up presents. It was so much fun to watch Gracie. She got the biggest kick out of seeing her comfy little couch sitting in the living room when she walked in this morning. I think she's figuring out this Santa thing pretty fast! After our visit to him last night, she now says, "SANTA!" and claps her hands real big. I think the big kids had a good time, too, and are very happy with their new goodies. Mass today was so nice and we had a soloist with the most wonderful voice. It really brought the feeling of Christmas home. After Mass we took Gracie up to see the Nativity Scene and of course I had to get a photo of her.......with my NEW CAMERA!!!! Yep. I'm so excited!!! Now I have a nice, small camera to keep with me at all times. My poor kids.......they can't do anything without me with a camera in their face. So here's Gracie sitting by the Nativity Scene in her pretty Christmas outfit along with her new slippers that she would not take off! Too silly!

God Bless and Merry Christmas!!!!

last minute shopping mayhem....

Wow. So we always say that we're not going to wait until the last minute to Christmas shop and every year it happens. We don't get anything done until the few days before Christmas. That would put my past two days in a nutshell. Shopping. Shopping. Shopping. Uck. I am NOT a shopper. I hate to shop. I hate the mall. I panic in crowds of people. It's just not a happy thing for me! So, waiting until the night before Christmas to finish up our shopping has been quite an experience. The only good thing that happened is that we waited until this evening at 5 to go and see Santa. We walked right in and got our photo taken! No waiting at all! Gracie did better than I thought she would. She would not let him touch her, but she did get close enough to him to say "Hi" but only because she was holding tightly onto Joe. We ended up getting our photo taken with me holding Gracie on one side of Santa and Joe sitting on the other. I must say that it was kind of fun getting my photo taken with Santa! lol

God Bless and Merry Christmas!

Here's a layout that I did over the weekend. Pretty much everything is from the December Kit from The Scrap Room. I LOVE this scrapbooking club, so be sure to check it out!

Abby was able to volunteer with our church Youth Group to ring the bells for the Salvation Army a couple of weeks ago. What a wonderful opportunity for her and I'm so glad that she wanted to do it. We were so blessed to have had a very mild evening, so we didn't have to worry about Abby turning into a human popsicle. I wish I could say the same for our weather this past week. buuurrrrr.........temperatures well below freezing during the day and night. Winter is here!

God Bless and keep warm!

Our Tree

Here's our Christmas tree! I was able to change our color scheme this year. We have always had a Victorian look to our tree and I just wanted something totally different this year to go with our new house and new blue living room. Since we have been trying to decorate our house in a more traditional way, I just had to go with a red and white color scheme. I absolutely love it!

hello

Okay, here we go...my first post, you have to start somewhere....... lol
